About us:
We met in college and began dating in 2001. We knew right away that we were meant to be together, sharing a love for animals and the outdoors. In 2004, we were married in a park, in the middle of a thunderstorm. The clouds parted, and the sun emerged just in time for us to say our vows, casting a beautiful light on our new life together. One of the best things about our marriage is that we just love spending time together and having fun. We love hanging out, being silly, playing games, and hiking with our dogs in the hills behind our house. We consider our 2 dogs and 2 cats members of the family. On weekends, we enjoy having friends and relatives over for BBQs and playing hide and seek with our nieces and nephews in our backyard. We are unable to have children of our own and see adoption as a beautiful way to bring the joy of children into our lives.
Our careers:
Corey works as a manager in a park. Due to his job, we have the wonderful opportunity to live in a home on the park property, where we are surrounded by nature and wildlife. Corey’s job is quite flexible and we like that he is able to work close to home. Brook works for an agency that helps conserve natural resources. Her job is also quite flexible, allowing her to change her schedule as she wishes. We enjoy our careers, and love the fact that what we do for our jobs aids in preserving our natural resources for future generations.
Our interests:
Together, we love to go camping, kayaking, hiking, and horsing around with our animals. We also enjoy growing vegetables in our garden, playing games and cooking together. We love challenging ourselves to make unusual dishes from General Tso’s Chicken, to homemade Twinkies. Brook is a vegetarian and Corey is not, which helps fuel our adventures in the kitchen. Brook enjoys all forms of art, from knitting frog shaped handbags, to painting tree murals on our livingroom wall. Corey is an avid outdoorsman and spends as much time as he can playing sports, fishing and observing wildlife. More than anything, we love spending time with our friends and family.
